About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applied Research Scientist to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs in Zug. As an Applied Research Scientist, you will be responsible for executing the entire model development lifecycle, from prototype to delivery, while applying best practices for reproducible research and well-managed software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experiment and Develop: You will design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions using state-of-the-art information retrieval, natural language processing, and generative AI techniques.
  • Collaborate: You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product and domain experts, to identify compelling solutions at the intersection of user need and technical feasibility.
  • Deliver: You will be accountable for timely, well-managed deliverables that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
  • Innovate: You will be empowered to try new approaches and learn new technologies, and will implement innovative ideas to solve real-world challenges.
  • Communicate: You will be a proactive communicator who is excited to share your work with both technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, and will have at least one year of industry experience building IR/NLP/ML systems. You will also have solid software engineering skills for prototyping, outstanding communication and data analysis skills, and a passion for solving complex problems.
