Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to lead our CAPEX projects in Europe. As Head of Procurement Capex Small Molecules and LHO Europe, you will be responsible for managing a team of lead buyers and operational buyers, as well as overseeing the procurement of supplies and services for assigned investment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for assigned investment projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market conditions.
  • Procure supplies and services for assigned specialist areas or investment projects, including professional services providers, process equipment, construction, and fit-out.
  • Define and implement procurement strategies, targets, and department or supplier classification, taking into account market situations and product classification.
  • Bundling of procurement measures within the plant and in conjunction with other Lonza sites.
  • Preparation, conclusion, and maintenance of framework agreements.
  • Development of action plans, relationship management with suppliers, evaluation of new suppliers, and management of strategic key account activities.
  • Optimization of LifeCycleCost (LCC) and reduction of material, transport, ancillary, and follow-up costs.
Requirements
  • Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar training; preferred area of study: process engineering, chemical engineering, and plant engineering.
  • Experience in plant construction, purchasing, sales, contract management, and project management.
  • Languages: English excellent, German excellent.
  • Project and procurement management.
  • Team player with ability to work efficiently in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent business mindset, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative and resilience.
