We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our team in the field of spectroscopy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in developing, optimizing, and evaluating applied optical spectroscopy experiments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, development, and model validation of optical spectroscopy techniques, as well as knowledge in complementary fields such as microscopies and X-ray techniques.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment in our optical spectroscopy lab, independent multivariate data analysis, and presentation of results to key stakeholders.
As part of a global team, the successful candidate will work in close collaboration with other scientists in interdisciplinary teams and have an impact on innovation projects, marketing, and production support.
Responsibilities:- Independent planning and execution of laboratory experiments with optical spectroscopy according to defined expectations and in a timely manner.
- Maintenance and qualification of assigned lab equipment, including laboratory safety and documentation.
- Building and maintaining a data platform for the optical spectroscopy lab, extending to other technologies in later phases.
- Reporting of results and protocols to internal customers.
- Extension of analyses into either LC or GC depending on prior expertise and project needs.
- A Master or Bachelor of Science degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in an R&D environment.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, development, and model validation of optical spectroscopy techniques.
- Knowledge in complementary fields such as microscopies and/or X-ray techniques.
- Sound experience in statistics, multivariate data analysis, visualization, and management.
- Experience with computerized lab environments and additional analytical techniques.
- Open-minded personality and ability to shine in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong team player with self-organizing skills and an independent way of working.
- Proficient command of English; German is a plus.
