Petroleum Engineering Consultant Job Description



This role provides expert technical advice and guidance in petroleum engineering, with a focus on conventional and unconventional resources.



The ideal candidate will have a strong background in petroleum engineering, with at least 15 years of experience, including 10 years in their specialty.



Responsibilities include providing expert advice and assistance on engineering and operating problems, specifying design criteria, and reviewing proposals for new or changed operating procedures.



The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the company effectively in technical contacts with shareholders and SAG representatives.



In addition, the candidate will have experience with oil and gas software applications, including CMG, Resfrac, and Petrel.




  • BS in engineering or equivalent technical field
  • Typically, has at least fifteen (15) years of related experience, including ten (10) years of intensive experience in his/her specialty
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend both orally and in writing, accurately, clearly and concisely in English at the high level required to perform the job as outlined
  • Understanding of artificial lift systems, well completion design, and water management
  • Experience in well workovers/interventions, sand control, and scale mitigation
  • Understanding of Saudi Arab culture if relevant in assigned area
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations
  • Prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications, reports and presentations
  • Familiar with oil and gas software applications


Requirements



Knowledge of petroleum engineering principles and practices, with a strong focus on conventional and unconventional resources.



Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and in writing, accurately, clearly and concisely in English at the high level required to perform the job as outlined.



Understanding of artificial lift systems, well completion design, and water management.



Experience in well workovers/interventions, sand control, and scale mitigation.



Understanding of Saudi Arab culture if relevant in assigned area.



Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.



Familiar with oil and gas software applications.
