Insurance Operations Specialist

At Starr Insurance Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Operations Specialist to support our Underwriting and Operations teams in policy administration, invoicing, and credit control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter risk and policy data into Operations systems within defined service levels.
  • Proactively manage Salesforce prospects and ensure timely submission of booking information.
  • Ensure high data quality in Operations systems through checks and reviews.
  • Process taxes and premiums accurately and efficiently.
  • Establish premium invoices and brokerage statements within set timeframes.

Credit Control:

  • Work on aged debt on a weekly basis.
  • Report overdue debt to Underwriters and execute agreed actions.
  • Update stage and comments for the Finance team in Eclipse.
  • Handle bordereaux and share claims information with the Claims team.
  • Process premium payments and ensure policy assignment is done in a timely manner.

Administration:

  • Drive continuous improvement of Operations and Underwriting processes.
  • Support the implementation of global Operations projects.
  • Inform internal and external stakeholders proactively.
  • Ensure filing of Operations documentation is complete.
  • Assist in training underwriters and new admin staff as required.

Requirements:

  • Technical accounting or similar experience.
  • Preferably with an insurance background.
  • Ideal candidate worked in the technical accounting department of a corporate insurance unit/company.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and team-oriented.
  • Capable of multitasking and flexible when delegating tasks.
  • Curious and able to learn independently.
  • Financial acumen.
