We are seeking a Traction Project Engineering Director to lead our traction project developments and delivery in Zurich, Switzerland.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Site Project Engineering Manager in Zürich - CH. As a Traction Project Engineering Director, you will work closely with international teams across the business, including Product Management, Engineering, Advance Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Operations, Requirements Managers, Customers, and Suppliers.

You will be responsible for managing development targets, requirements, and schedules, enabling those around you to excel, and much more. This role involves performing technical decisions and trade-offs within project teams, managing project engineering activities, representing engineering among project core teams, and managing functionally the project engineering core team and their commitment for the project or R&D.

Key Responsibilities
  • Owner and responsible for engineering project work packages
  • Providing regular reporting and performance analysis to management
  • Defining and implementing the Engineering Management Plan
  • Providing updates on project engineering firm workload, including forecasted internal and external change orders, based on inputs from Métier teams
  • Managing Engineering risks mitigation and savings action plans
  • Following and updating baseline on a regular basis, validating Variation Orders demands (external or internal) requested by project, quoting them with involvement from métiers, and updating engineering work packages accordingly, ensuring proper traceability
  • Approving applicable modifications on product, and updating QCD accordingly as a member of CCB
  • Managing the Global Scheduling Convergence, with support of Engineering Planning Manager
  • Managing the Operational Quality in order to improve Project execution
  • Planning necessary Design Reviews, checking mandatory attendees are invited, making sure they are done on-time and mitigating NO GO risk
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions, and standards, process & tools: Code of Ethics & Compliance, Environment Health & Safety, and Quality

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in traction and product development
  • Strong knowledge of Traction business
  • Capacity to coordinate and ensure collaboration of multi-site/multi-métier teams
  • Ability to understand the organization, processes, and products involved and decide independently when significant impact on QCDP makes it necessary to involve next level
  • Flair for leading and influencing others

The estimated salary for this position is between 80,000 - 120,000 EUR per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
