Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel APAC

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in the Asia-Pacific region. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide strategic and operational legal support to our commercial organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support and strategic counsel for our operations in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with our business leaders in the region, developing a strong understanding of our business and its strategic plans and priorities.
  • Provide first-chair legal support for our commercial operations in the region, including contract negotiation, drafting, and execution, as well as reviewing and advising on advertising and promotional materials.
  • Advise on engagements with third-party stakeholders, including governments, payers, healthcare practitioners, and patients and patient associations.
  • Provide corporate legal support for our operations in the region, including advice and legal/company secretarial support for CSL Vifor group companies and the Vifor-Fresenius Kabi joint venture company in mainland China.
  • Manage disputes and litigation to protect our business interests in the region.
  • Provide legal support for CSL Vifor employment matters in the region, in coordination with the Global Head of Labor & Employment Law.
  • Support compliance matters in relation to our operations in the region, including regulatory inquiries or investigations and whistleblower complaints.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and J.D. or equivalent foreign degree.
  • Bar admission in Switzerland or permission to practice in-house.
  • LL.M. preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of one of the main Chinese languages.
  • 10+ years' international corporate or law firm legal experience.
  • 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • 5+ years' international experience for multi-jurisdiction region.
  • Solid experience in Tech Ops support, supply, and manufacturing agreements and legal matters.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and apply pragmatic solutions to complex legal/regulatory matters.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, results-oriented.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills and experience with various agreements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and MS Office skills.
