Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research associate to join our team at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Dornbirn, Austria.

About the Position

This fully-funded PhD position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in embedded sensors and constrained sensor networks. As a research associate, you will design and conduct research, link scientific findings with industry applications, and support knowledge transfer with industry in applied projects.

Your Tasks

  • You will design and conduct research in the field of embedded sensors and constrained sensor networks.
  • You will link scientific findings with industry-specific applications.
  • You will support the group in knowledge transfer with industry in applied projects.
  • You will engage in teaching at HSG, including courses and supervision of masters' and bachelors' theses.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with other researchers in interdisciplinary projects.
  • You will help the group in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • You will engage in outreach activities to promote research and increase the lab's visibility.
  • You will participate in grant writing and proposal development activities.

Your Profile

  • You have a university-level master's degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • You have a good knowledge of programming languages C/C++ and Python.
  • You have a basic understanding of Linux-based and Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • You have a good knowledge of networking protocols.
  • You have an independent, structured way of working, and the ability to independently manage your time.
  • You enjoy hands-on work and prototyping with real-world devices and sensors.
