Advanced Software Engineer for IoT Systems

About our client
We are working with a leading innovator in the field of collision avoidance systems, seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.
Your responsibilities
- Develop low-level drivers that integrate new sensors, ensuring seamless communication between hardware and software components.
- Design and implement low-bandwidth, long-range communication protocols, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
- Architect, design, and develop the next-generation solutions for collision avoidance systems, pushing the boundaries of innovation.
- Collaborate closely with algorithms development, support-tools development, and server teams to develop new solutions, driving progress through teamwork.
- Take technical lead on initiatives for global collaboration on embedded topics, providing expert guidance and mentorship.
- Assist the product-introduction team with product validation in remote locations, ensuring quality and consistency.
Your profile
- Bachelor or Master in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, demonstrating strong academic foundations.
- At least 5 years of experience in C on RTOS, preferably on STM platforms, showcasing expertise in real-time operating systems.
- Good knowledge of low-level network protocols (Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP), I2C, CAN, RS2, and SPI, enabling efficient data exchange.
- Experience in debugging at assembler level, preferably on ARM processors, highlighting troubleshooting skills.
- Good knowledge of IoT, Functional Safety, Linux, and/or Python is an asset, indicating versatility and adaptability.
- Experience in Test-Driven Design and Continuous Integration is beneficial, demonstrating commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Experience with GNSS and radio is advantageous, showcasing familiarity with navigation and wireless technologies.
- Motivation to work with agile development processes (e.g., SCRUM), indicating flexibility and teamwork-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (~ 2 weeks per year) and holder of a Driver's license, suggesting adaptability and responsibility.
- Languages: German and English, facilitating effective communication.
