Senior Payroll Specialist

The Senior Payroll Specialist is a critical role within CSL Behring, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Swiss payrolls.
This position serves as the key point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for supported payrolls, working closely with the Payroll Vendors to ensure seamless processing and validation of payroll data.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee payrolls are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with federal, state/canton, local, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the first point of contact for Swiss payroll-related matters, providing complex employee payroll query responses while managing the SNow ticket queue.
- Interpret policies and regulations regarding leaves, disability, allowances, one-time payments, garnishments, and more, working closely with payroll vendors to ensure correct application and settlement.
- Maintain knowledge management articles to ensure they are up-to-date and support employee needs.
- Ensure regular finance, compliance, and audit reporting is delivered as per agreed timescales, assisting with audits and reconciliations of payroll data as required.
- Review payroll policies and procedures, ensuring payroll calendars and processing schedules align with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with the Global Payroll Process Lead to define payroll requirements for payroll projects or enhancements, perform User Acceptance Testing, and document results.
- Support the CH Payroll Manager in ensuring CSL Behring meets its compliance obligations with federal, state, canton, and regulatory requirements.
- Other payroll-related activities as directed by the manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's in HR/Accounting degree or Diploma in payroll is preferred.
- 4-8 years of experience in payroll with end-to-end processing for Swiss payroll for at least 2000 employees total.
- Exposure to taxation, audit, and compliance is a plus.
- Strong payroll management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Strong process management and business process analysis competencies, with the ability to support complex HR/Payroll models.
