Environmental Sustainability Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer/Technician to join our team at Evonik. As a key member of our environmental services team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing expert advice to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementing approval and notification procedures in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and preparing associated application documents
• Handling official inquiries and inspections
• Providing training, information, and advice to companies on environmental protection issues, particularly those related to the BImSchG and associated legal and administrative provisions
• Preparing annual environmental reports according to legal requirements
• Tracking deadlines and planning emission measurements required by licensing law, with corresponding documentation of measurement results
• Carrying out emission measurements, including sampling, analysis, or sample shipment in accordance with TA-Luft and VDI guidelines
• Monitoring and coordinating emission measurements by external measurement institutes
• Creating and maintaining environmental databases/documentation

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in environmental technology or a related field, or equivalent technical training with relevant professional experience
• Professional experience in environmental and permit management is advantageous
• Excellent knowledge of recording and documenting complex processes
• Confident handling of MS Office and SAP, as well as experience with databases
• Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
• A Class B driving license
• Confident, binding appearance towards internal and external customers
• Independent working style combined with initiative and ability to work in a team
