Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations comply with regulatory requirements and minimize our impact on the environment.

This role will involve:

• Implementation of approval and notification procedures in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) as well as the preparation of associated application documents
• Handling of official inquiries and inspections
• Training, information and advice to companies on environmental protection issues, in particular on matters relating to the BImSchG and associated legal and administrative provisions
• Preparation of annual environmental reports in accordance with legal requirements
• Deadline tracking and planning of emission measurements required by licensing law with corresponding documentation of the measurement results
• Carrying out emission measurements including sampling, analysis or sample shipment in accordance with TA-Luft and VDI guidelines
• Monitoring and coordination of emission measurements by external measurement institutes
• Creation and maintenance of environmental databases/documentation

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A successfully completed bachelor's degree in the field of environmental technology or comparable technical studies, alternatively successfully completed training as an environmental technician with professional experience
• Professional experience in the field of environmental and permit management advantageous
• Excellent knowledge of recording and documenting complex processes
• Confident handling of MS Office and SAP as well as experience with databases
• Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
• Class B driving licence
• Confident, binding appearance towards internal and external customers
• Independent way of working in combination with initiative and ability to work in a team

As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist at Evonik, you can expect:

A competitive salary of approximately €55,000 - €70,000 per annum, depending on experience
