Job Summary
The University of Zurich is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Dynamic and Distributed Information Systems Group. The successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of computer science and AI/NLP, focusing on developing technical approaches to support physicians in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on large language models, large and multi-modal data processing, embedding spaces, and general applications of AI.
- Investigate technical approaches for supporting physicians in diagnosing patients with rare diseases.
- Collaborate with the research group to explore both the technical and behavioral dimensions of computer science.
- Develop systems that help physicians diagnose patients with rare diseases.
- Pursue projects related to news recommender systems and/or political deliberation, as desired.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, NLP, or a related discipline (or near completion).
- Passion for discovering new things and a strong interest in AI, large language models, machine learning, semantic web technologies, and/or behavioral analyses.
- Experience in running experiments with human subjects or surveys is a plus.
- Teaching support duties are included in the position.
- Proficiency in German is not mandatory but recommended.
