Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities

The Head Finance will be responsible for planning and executing all operational financial matters in alignment with the CFO. Specific focus will be on financial planning, accounting, consolidation, and controlling of the company.

Key Tasks
  • Elaboration and adjustment of budgets and rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with SCO and IFRS
  • Preparation and development of monthly consolidated reports
  • Controlling of actual cost versus budgeted/forecasted cost
  • Preparation of reporting to BoD/Management and BoD-meetings presentation of finance part
Accounting and Audit
  • Reviewing of accounting entries of all 3 entities
  • Preparation and calculation of quarterly cut-offs, especially R&D accruals
  • Main contact for auditors during year-end audit
  • Development of internal controls (ICS)
Valuations and Share Register
  • Company and ESOP valuations
  • Preparation of Cap Table and year-end confirmation on shareholdings
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of financial experience in biotech and pharma industry is a must
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, ability to interface and communicate effectively with executive management and other functions within the organization
  • Solid network in the Life Science Industry and excellent ability to network and negotiation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the capital market and financial tools, processes, rules, and regulations including best practices
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and German, additional languages are an asset
  • Collaborative attitude, team player
  • Excellent planning and strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
  • Excellent conceptual thinking, which is used to approach and solve complex issues and their implications
  • Self-motivation and able to work independently in a fast-pace, small company environment
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude
  • Willing to work hands-on, able to work without an in-house team
