Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced biomedical laboratory technician/scientist to join our team as a Flow Cytometry Specialist at the Department for BioMedical Research (DBMR) of the University of Bern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific, methodological, and technical support to users of the Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core Facility (FCCS CF), including high-dimensional data analyses.
  • Operate (spectral) flow cytometers, including cell sorters, and ensure their proper maintenance and calibration.
  • Develop and present recurrent FACS course modules, as well as coach participants during practical sessions.
  • Participate in seminars and meetings for further education and presentations for FCCS CF representation.

Requirements

  • Master or PhD in natural sciences or laboratory technician with a strong biomedical scientific background and corresponding experience.
  • Advanced experience with flow cytometry and a good understanding of its applications in biomedical research.
  • Excellent laboratory, scientific, and social (customer care) conduct.
  • Good command of English (B2 or higher).
  • Interest and experience in bioinformatics are a plus.
