Research Associate in Macroeconomic Policy

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at the University of St. in the department of Macroeconomics and Public Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to ongoing research projects in macro public finance, focusing on topics such as inequality, taxation, student financing policies, human capital accumulation, and young household savings patterns.
- Work with extensive survey and administrative data to produce key statistics and perform econometric analysis.
- Conduct research on institutional settings in Switzerland, analyzing their impact on economic policies.
- Engage in literature research to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in economics or a related field.
- Have a solid foundation in R, Python, or Stata programming languages.
- Apply critical thinking to data and demonstrate a strong interest in economic theory.
- Be intrinsically motivated to solve complex problems and work effectively in a small team.
- Have a strong foundation in statistics or econometrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in processing datasets, including cleaning, merging, and generating basic statistics.
- Proficiency in German language.
