We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Chemist to join our team in Switzerland.

As a Senior Research Chemist, you will support the Product Leadership Team (PLT) and address production issues related to established active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).

• You will collaborate closely with various departments while considering production constraints, safety, quality, and environmental aspects.
• You will evaluate the scientific relevance of laboratory trial requests within the PLT team (e.g. homologations).

In this role, you will also participate in optimization/improvement projects of established processes.

You will be involved in identifying opportunities for optimization of commercial processes through (e.g. deviation and product portfolio analysis).

You will plan and coordinate the activities of your two laboratory technicians and edit reports to track R&D investigations/optimisations.

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Organic Chemistry and at least 5 years of operational experience, including both R&D and manufacturing, preferably in a CMO c-GMP environment.

You should be highly structured and systematic in your approach to problem-solving, utilizing tools such as situation diagnosis, process mapping, root cause analysis, decision/risk analysis, and fishbone/5Why's diagrams.

• You should be flexible, collaborative, and possess a positive attitude with strong communication skills, enabling you to work effectively across multiple departments (production, quality, analytics, sourcing, etc.).
• You should be decisive in demanding environments and proactive during crisis management.

You should be fluent in both French and English and open to adopting new technologies, such as Process Analytical Technology (PAT).

The estimated annual salary for this position is CHF 120,000 - CHF 150,000 depending on experience.
