In our Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world's toughest unmet healthcare needs. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pilot Plant Specialist in purification to join our team in the downstream processing of oligonucleotides and peptides.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GMP and non-GMP environments, with a strong background in preparative chromatography and other downstream processing techniques. The main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Executing downstream processing operations in both GMP and non-GMP settings;
  • Developing preparative chromatographic techniques such as reversed phase and ion exchange and applying these to the purification of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs);
  • Documenting manufacturing processes in accordance with GMP requirements; and
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment in compliance with GMP standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have a keen interest in continuously building a personal network and be resourceful and flexible in problem solving and working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You should also possess:

  • A Bachelor/Master degree with at least 3 years of experience or Apprenticeship with at least 5 years of experience in the field;
  • Strong technical expertise and experience in preparative downstream processing of oligonucleotides, peptides, or biologics by using ion exchange and/or reversed phase preparative chromatography systems;
  • Experience in working in a GMP pilot plant environment for low bioburden APIs;
  • Digital proficiency and familiarity with software solutions for preparative and analytical chromatography systems;
  • Experience in working in controlled areas (e.g., cleanroom, AtEx) is advantageous;
  • Knowledge of SAP or willingness to learn and become acquainted with SAP-based applications;
  • Proficient in both English and German.
