About the RoleThis exciting opportunity as an Urban Planning Software Architect at the Esri R&D Center-Zurich will give you the chance to play a key role in our mission. You will be part of a small and dynamic team of passionate engineers who develop ArcGIS Urban, CityEngine, and Esri's core 3D web technologies.
We are looking for creative, smart engineers to help us build the next generation of urban planning tools. As a software engineer at Esri, you will solve challenges that make a difference in the world.
Responsibilities- Help design and implement the back end for ArcGIS Urban using cutting-edge technologies like GraphQL, WebAssembly, Rust, and Elixir.
- Develop a scalable, testable, and maintainable architecture.
- Advise on matters of software architecture and database design.
- Apply and promote software engineering best practices.
- Work collaboratively with the team to shape the future of urban planning.
- Excellent programming skills in modern programming languages.
- 2+ years of industry experience in web application development.
- Excellent communication skills: articulate the reasons behind design decisions.
- Ability to think creatively.
- Master's or PhD in computer science or equivalent experience working with web technologies.
- Existing work authorization for Switzerland.
