The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientific Officer to join its team. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the HydroHub, a global initiative aimed at enhancing hydrological monitoring and project coordination worldwide.

About the HydroHub

The HydroHub is a key component of the WMO's strategy to improve hydrological services and support climate change adaptation. As a Scientific Officer, you will contribute to the development and implementation of projects related to hydrological monitoring and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support resource mobilization efforts and develop project proposals.
  • Conduct socio-economic benefit analysis and prepare Ministerial roundtables.
  • Support innovation activities, including Innovation Calls and Workshops.
  • Maintain the HydroHub webpages on the WMO website and prepare communication materials.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in hydrology, meteorology, environmental sciences, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of three years of combined national and international experience in hydrology and/or data collection and management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, dependability, and ability to adapt to changes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent knowledge of English.
