Senior Middle Office Job Description

At Michael Page, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Middle Office professional to join our team. As a key member of our metals trading team, you will be responsible for providing operational and administrative support to our traders, ensuring the smooth execution of trades, and managing trade-related documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Trading Support: Assist traders in trade execution, deal verification, and settlement processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of trade-related documents and financial transactions.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure compliance with trading limits, risk controls, and regulatory requirements, monitoring and reporting on trading positions, exposures, and risk metrics.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze metal market data, including prices, demand forecasts, and supply patterns, utilizing analytical tools and models to support decision-making processes and optimize trading strategies.
  • Operations Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations, facilitating trade settlements and resolving operational issues.
  • Trade Settlements: Oversee trade settlements and invoicing processes, verifying accuracy and completeness of trade-related documents and financial transactions.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Stay updated with relevant energy market regulations, policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring trading activities adhere to internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with counterparties, brokers, and industry professionals, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve inquiries and address operational issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within trading and operational workflows, proposing and implementing enhancements to streamline processes and automate tasks.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in Risks and Middle Office.
  • Experience in commodities and metals exposure mandatory of minimum 5 years.
  • Excellent English, German a plus.
