About you:

• Experience as a Kitchen/Hotel Steward or similar in a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage
• Must have experience working in multicultural teams, be flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player with strong administrative skills and proficiency in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems
• Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards
• Excellent knowledge of all public health policies, especially US Public Health and FDA Standards
Role Overview:
As a Utility Attendant on the Mississippi, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness of dishes for the galley, restaurant, trash room, and crew mess areas

• You will report to the Utility Attendant Lead
• You will be expected to work on a 10/3 rotation (10 weeks on board and 3 weeks off on vacation). Rotation lengths may vary based on staffing and operational needs onboard Viking Mississippi
Role Expectations:

• Establish and maintain cleaning routines in all food production outlets
• Ensure the cleanliness of galley storage areas and provide necessary cleaning materials
• Ensure the cleanliness and working condition of cleaning equipment and utensils, reporting any damages
• Control garbage segregation and comply with Public Health Policies and Procedures
• Assist with F&B events, provisions loading, and training of Galley Staff
• Consistently maintain high levels of U.S. Public Health/FDA Standards and Viking Sanitary Standards
• Uphold impeccable grooming standards at all times, adhering to Viking's Image and Uniform Standards
• Demonstrate outstanding flexibility, working at different times of the day, under pressure, and reflecting a positive attitude and the best image of Viking
• Consistently arrive on time and be prepared for work
• Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at leaders' discretion based on operational needs
Mandatory requirements & at-will employment:

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations
• Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. Viking Mississippi is a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace
• Must be 21+ years old, physically fit, and in good health to meet the demands of an intense shipboard role; must be able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time
