About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Compliance professional to join our team at Alpiq. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our compliance with financial regulations and market integrity rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a strong compliance culture throughout the Group, promoting a culture of integrity and transparency.
  • Design, maintain, and improve our Compliance Management System to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including REMIT/MAR, EMIR/FinfraG, MiFID, and others.
  • Manage our Algorithmic Trading Framework, ensuring it is aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a trade compliance communication program and training initiatives to educate employees on compliance best practices.
  • Investigate potential breaches of financial and market integrity rules, providing advice and recommendations to management.
  • Manage interactions with regulators and regulatory investigations, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Monitor and report on trade compliance activities to relevant stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our business operations and apply internal and external standards to ensure appropriate Compliance risk mitigations.
  • Provide trade compliance advice and guidance to employees and management.

About You

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced professional with a strong background in trade compliance. The ideal candidate will have:

A university degree or professional qualification in law, economics, or a related field.Several years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in an international company, with a focus on wholesale energy products.Leadership experience, including senior stakeholder management.Profound knowledge of Europe-wide best practice standards in trade compliance.Understanding of the energy industry, particularly power.Knowledge of internal investigations.Personal gravitas, ability to challenge others, and find alternative solutions.Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire trust and promote cross-functional collaboration.Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and share knowledge and learnings broadly.Business fluency in English, with additional languages, such as German and French, being an advantage.
