About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Sales & Partnerships team at lastminute. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in acquiring, manipulating, and monitoring data to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop data dimensional models to understand and analyze functional needs and raw data
  • Design, build, and deploy data pipelines with a focus on automation, performance optimization, scalability, and reliability
  • Help the business understand data and find insights that enable data-driven decisions
  • Leverage data and business principles to solve large-scale web, mobile, and data infrastructure problems
  • Build data expertise and own data quality for your area
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in Data Modelling
  • Experience in ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience with workflow management engines (e.g. Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Talend)
  • Experience with data quality and validation
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
Desirable Skills
  • Bachelor or master degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics or similar fields
  • Experience working with cloud or on-prem Big Data/MPP analytics platform (e.g. AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery or similar)
  • Programming languages knowledge (e.g. Python, R, Scala)
  • Experience in analyzing data to discover opportunities, address gaps, and anomaly/outlier detection
  • Experience with Analytics tool (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Spotfire)
  • Familiarity with digital and e-commerce business
