We are excited to announce an opportunity for a circularity in building sector specialist to join our team at the Institute of Environmental Engineering. As a specialist in this field, you will play a key role in assessing circular economy strategies and developing metrics to measure circularity in the construction sector.
The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, data science, or related fields, with excellent academic records. You should have strong research backgrounds and solid independent research ability, as well as experience with life cycle assessment, material flow analysis, data analysis, and modeling in Python.
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating a project focused on circularity in the building sector.
- Working closely with doctoral students to develop frameworks for assessing circular economy strategies.
- Utilizing methodologies such as life cycle assessment (LCA), material flow analysis (MFA), and statistical analysis.
- Defining and assessing various scenarios and circular economy strategies.
You will also have opportunities to further develop your research profile in the group, attend conferences, and supervise Bachelor and Master thesis students. Good verbal and written communication skills in English are essential; additional German language skills would be appreciated.
