Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Cardiovascular Disease Control Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical products and contributing to grant proposals for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor project management plans for technical product development.
  • Facilitate preparation of meetings for technical products, including drafting agendas and coordinating with expert networks.
  • Conduct situational analyses of cardiovascular disease control in selected Member States and contribute to technical inputs.
  • Develop and write reports documenting current status and recommendations for strengthening cardiovascular disease control programs.
  • Provide technical and programmatic advice on the development, update, and implementation of cardiovascular disease policies and activities.
  • Contribute to the achievement of cardiovascular disease coverage targets by providing guidance on the design, implementation, and coordination of national cardiovascular disease control plans.
  • Coordinate inputs from WHO staff and combine them into donor templates for grant proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced university degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in cardiovascular diseases and public health, including a proven track record of delivering high-quality products.
  • Experience with country work in low- and middle-income countries and relevant work experience with WHO and/or UN agencies, health cluster partners, or relevant non-governmental organizations.

Skills and Languages

  • Expert knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of other WHO languages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Location and Remuneration

  • Off-site: Home-based.
  • Remuneration: Band level C - USD 10,000 - 12,500 per month.
