Primary School Learning Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Primary School Learning Assistant to join our team at Geneva English School. As a Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic, personal, and social development.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students in small groups or one-to-one in their academic, personal, and social development.
- Work closely with teachers to provide the highest quality learning experience for children.
- Monitor behavior, relationships, personal, and social development of students.
- Encourage students to take an interest in and participate in all aspects of their education.
- Support students with reading, writing, speaking, spelling, handwriting, and presentation.
- Help students to concentrate on and complete work set.
- Develop methods to promote and reinforce children's confidence and self-esteem.
- Participate in the assessment and evaluation of student progress.
- Establish good relationships with parents.
- Pass on and discuss any relevant communication with or from parents.
- Carry out administrative and supervisory duties efficiently and conscientiously.
- Provide occasional cover for class teachers.
- Supervise children playing outside during break and lunch times.
- Contribute to the creation of a stimulating learning environment.
- Show an active commitment to the wider life of the school.
- Experience working with Primary-age children in a classroom setting.
- Experience working with children with ASD, dyslexia, and/or ADHD would be an asset.
- Relevant, recognized qualification.
- Knowledge of the English National Curriculum would be an asset.
- Fluent in English - strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident liaising with the wider community, including external professionals and parents.
