About the Role:
The Carbon Emissions Analyst will join our Carbon Reporting Management team and contribute to our internal and external GHG emissions reporting needs. This role requires a deep understanding of GHG emission factors, analysis, and interpretation, as well as experience with data visualization tools and programming languages.
Main Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of GHG emission factors from industrial activities, transportation, and commodity supply chains is a critical aspect of this role.
- Maintaining up-to-date emission factor and unit conversion databases for Group emissions reporting ensures consistency of data usage across Scope 1, 2, and 3 calculations.
- Staying updated on applicable voluntary and mandatory reporting standards, best practices, and industry guidance related to GHG emissions reporting is essential.
- Supporting the development of a GHG emissions reporting knowledge base enables robust, consistent, and verifiable GHG emissions data collection, calculation, and reporting practices across the Glencore Group.
- Providing additional support to the reporting, systems, and assurance teams as required.
About You:
- You possess great communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration and teamwork are essential qualities for this role.
- You have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in sustainability, economics, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Knowledge of the GHG Protocol, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and international sustainability reporting standards and guidance (CSRD, ISSB, ICMM, etc.)
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets, interpret complex information, and provide actionable insights
- Proficient in Microsoft applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and programming languages (e.g., Power BI) is desirable
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Suitable candidates must be Swiss citizens, hold a Swiss B/C permit, or possess an EU passport
