Medical Device Development Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Development Specialist to join our team at Universitätsklinik Balgrist.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop innovative medical devices for spinal applications, adhering to ISO 13485, FDA, and CE/MDR regulations.
- Collaborate with product managers and project leaders to ensure design goals and specifications align with customer needs.
- Participate in technical projects with internal and external partners, including CROs, CMOs, design service providers, and prototype shops.
- Contribute to technical documentation and support risk documentation, including FMEA and hazard analysis.
- Cross-functionally contribute to quality engineering, regulatory, supplier engineering, project management, manufacturing engineering, clinical, and product management teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- 5+ years of experience in product development for orthopedic devices.
- Proven track record of innovation, intellectual property generation, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
- Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes (processing, forming, reshaping, injection molding).
- Motivated, independent, and team-oriented individual with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- A competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
