Job Summary:
As a Freight Forwarder - Sea Freight Specialist at DSV, you will be responsible for acting as a pro-active interface between customers and internal and external service providers. You will take ownership of accurate handling of customer orders, high productivity, and customer satisfaction.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position in the CHE - DSV Air & Sea AG (Air & Sea) division, located in La Chaux-de-Fonds. You will be responsible for controlling, organizing, and monitoring the entire transport by sea freight import and export, including invoicing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and monitor the entire transport by sea freight import and export (pick up until delivery of the shipment) / Invoicing
- Active communication with customers, DSV offices/agents, sales, subcontractors, and carriers in the daily business
- Accepting customer orders, reviewing all shipment and order relevant data and documents, recording orders (e.g. IMO/DGR Certificate, Country Regulations)
- Monitoring Job Costing/Profitability, processing of vendor invoices according to instructions
- Working and resolving operational problems and issues. Escalation management according to matrix specifications
- Quality responsibility, following and respecting specified process and operating procedures
Requirements:
- Team player with good communication skills
- Customer focus (monitors customer expectations continuously and is willing to adapt own activities/procedures)
- Planning & organizing (ability to prioritize, plan, assign & control performance against deadlines and milestones)
- Knowledge and trained on Good Distribution Practice Concepts and applicable SOPs
- Commercial apprenticeship
- Relevant working experience in sea freight environment
- Fluent in English and French, German is an asset
