About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced research scientist to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY LTD. As a senior research scientist, you will play a key role in strengthening our research center in Baden/CH.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead multidisciplinary industrial research projects on gas circuit breakers, high-voltage engineering, and electrical power devices.
- Design and research new concepts for high-voltage AC and DC gas circuit breakers and gaseous insulation.
- Contribute to shaping the long-term R&D strategy of gas circuit breakers and high-voltage switchgear.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, universities, and external partners to drive innovation and growth.
- Build and maintain a network of experts within the company and actively share knowledge and expertise.
- Communicate research findings through technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications.
Your Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of industry or postdoctoral experience in circuit breaker or high-voltage technology.
- Project management, people, or technical leadership experience.
- PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or applied physics, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in science or industry.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity.
- Background in cold/thermal plasma physics and applications, experimental fluid dynamics, or combustion physics is an advantage.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
