We are seeking a highly skilled Microscopy Image Analysis Expert to join our team in Lead Discovery, a department within Small Molecule Research at Roche. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of drug targets and mechanisms of action in targeted and phenotypic screening approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and execute image and data analysis strategies at scale for high-content imaging using cellular models (2D, 3D, organoids) by both segmentation/feature extraction and machine learning-based processes, data condensation, and data visualization.
- Implement cutting-edge image analysis frameworks and QC standards to uncover complex patterns and extract relevant information from high-content imaging and screening datasets while closely working together with colleagues from the Assay Development and High Throughput Screening & Profiling teams.
- Own the business process and solution for new data workflows around high-content screening and act as the key connector between the research teams in Lead Discovery and colleagues from the pRED Data & Analytics department.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary matrix teams and as an individual contributor working across pRED, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
- A track record in microscopy image analysis and a solid understanding of cellular biology and drug discovery principles.
- Experience in omics data analysis is beneficial, but not essential.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or others, experience with relevant image analysis software tools such as CellProfiler, Imagence, ImageJ, FiJI, or others, as well as hands-on experience with popular deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Transformers).
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and manage stakeholders efficiently in a matrix team, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
