Your Role

As a Procurement Manager at BakerHicks, you will be the first point of contact for all project-related procurement tasks, including tendering, orders, contract negotiations, and reporting.

You will administer the procurement process from pre-qualification to order/contract commitment, negotiating and positioning BakerHicks and its clients in advantageous positions when procuring goods or services.

You will also develop and negotiate terms and conditions in line with the form of contract, comply with BakerHicks' and client quality assurance and management systems, and liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure contracted compliance.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement processes from pre-qualification to order/contract commitment
  • Negotiate and position BakerHicks and its clients in advantageous procurement positions
  • Develop and negotiate terms and conditions in line with the form of contract
  • Comply with BakerHicks' and client quality assurance and management systems
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure contracted compliance
  • Effectively report progress to project managers and take ownership for the timely delivery of purchase orders and service contracts

Your Profile

We are looking for a highly experienced procurement professional with a strong background in procurement management, preferably in the construction or related industries.

You should have a completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration, and at least 10 years' experience as a procurement manager.

You should also have a strong knowledge of commonly used model forms of supply and construction contracts for the DACH region, such as SIA, KBOB, HOAI, and FIDIC.

Requirements

  • Completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration
  • 10+ years' experience as a procurement manager in the construction or related industries
  • 3+ years' experience as a procurement manager in the Pharma/Life Sciences sector
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used model forms of supply and construction contracts for the DACH region
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Team player with a willingness to work extended hours when required
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English
