Mechanical Technician

Job Summary
CERN is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join its SY-STI group. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the conception, manufacturing, assembly, installation, maintenance, and project follow-up for future experiments and SPS & LHC Beam Dumps and absorbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams for the design, realization, installation, and dismantling of prototype targets/absorbers.
- Coordinate the production of equipment, schedule assembly, and perform mechanical tests for various components of the North Area and Accelerator Consolidation Projects.
- Contribute to mechanical support activities in the accelerators complex and perform mechanical component manufacturing in the workshop.
- Collaborate with the technical team, institutes, and industrial partners.
Requirements
- Comprehensive use of conventional milling machines and basic knowledge of numerical controlled machines (CNC).
- Precision assembly of mechanical components and structures.
- Knowledge of CAD software.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to work in French an advantage.
