About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Library Manager to join our global Knowledge Management and Services team at DSM. As a key player in our Science and Research community, you will play a crucial role in ensuring access to relevant internal and external information and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve our scientific literature collection, ensuring a relevant portfolio of electronic sources for our science and innovation teams.
  • Manage holdings and user access, maintaining an overview of licensed content and user access.
  • Engage with users and build a community, fostering knowledge sharing and gathering feedback.
  • Provide training to our Science Research & Innovations communities to support effective use of our systems and efficient use of our licenses.
  • Offer daily support to user inquiries.

Innovation and Complexity:

  • Manage our portfolio in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to the actual needs of our scientific community.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with external electronic source providers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 3 years of experience in library services or a related knowledge management role.
  • Preferred knowledge management experience in biotechnology, chemical, or life sciences.
  • Thorough knowledge of the electronic resource's life cycle and commitment to maintaining awareness of trends and ongoing developments in this field.
  • Conceptual and practical knowledge of search platforms, standards, and technology to drive the development of digital library setup.
  • Soft skills: flexibility, open-mindedness, ability to function in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, and provide support to user communities.
