Job Description

The World Health Organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Investigation to lead its investigation function. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing policies and procedures for the management of investigations into allegations of wrongdoing, with a particular emphasis on fraud, embezzlement, theft, corruption, and other misconducts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategy for investigations, including the development of concepts for proactive investigations in high-risk areas.
  • Manage the investigation function efficiently, ensuring that investigations are completed and reports are issued in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to investigators, experts, and consultants to ensure that their work conforms to established standards and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a forensic investigations function to ensure investigations are supported by efficient and effective forensic tools and capabilities.
  • Manage the relationship and communication between the investigation function, legal counsel, ethics office, and other stakeholders concerned by the investigation process or the investigation results.
  • Ensure resources are allocated for the investigation function and are properly applied, monitoring and reviewing the use of resources and proposing strategies for their management.
Requirements
  • Advanced level university degree in law, accounting, audit, business administration, or another directly relevant field.
  • A minimum of 15 years progressively responsible professional work experience, of which at least 5 years at the international level, in investigating or prosecuting complex cases of fraud and workplace misconduct.
  • Several years of managerial experience, preferably in an international environment.
