Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic and Firmware Development Engineer to join our team at Coopers Group AG. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electronic and firmware solutions for our medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain embedded software for our modules, including maintenance, bug fixing, and implementing new features.
  • Design and develop electronic systems from schematic design to system integration for new and existing instruments and technologies.
  • Conceptualize and develop electronic modules, including proactive proposals based on customer and service feedback.
  • Create technical specifications, design, and verification documents, following our established process from feasibility setup to final unit.
  • Perform and document feasibility studies and verification tests of instrument modules during the development phase.
  • Support our products after launch, throughout their entire life cycle.
  • Redesign PCBs due to end-of-life and 2nd source topics.
  • Migrate firmware code to new microcontroller platforms.
  • Analyze complex electronic modules and perform root cause analysis of field and production issues.
  • Collaborate with experts from various disciplines, departments, and external development partners.
  • Support less experienced developers.

Requirements:

  • Hold a master's or bachelor's degree in electronic engineering with a focus on firmware development or comparable studies.
  • 10 years of experience in embedded software development in C, with experience with STM32 being a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in analog electronic design.
  • Knowledge in the area of motion control, with a focus on stepper motors.
  • Ideal knowledge in thermal regulation and Peltier application.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, with German being a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, with self-initiative and a willingness to collaborate in a team.
