About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic and Firmware Development Engineer to join our team at Coopers Group AG. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge electronic and firmware solutions for our medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain embedded software for our electronic modules, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Design and develop electronic systems from schematic design to system integration, including PCB design and verification.
  • Contribute to the concept development of electronic modules, proposing innovative solutions based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, design documents, and verification reports, adhering to our development process.
  • Perform feasibility studies and verification tests for instrument modules during the development phase.
  • Provide technical support for our products throughout their entire life cycle.
  • Redesign PCBs due to end-of-life and 2nd source topics, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Migrate firmware code to new microcontroller platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Analyze complex electronic modules, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve field and production issues, applying root cause analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including experts from different disciplines and external development partners.
  • Support and mentor less experienced developers, promoting knowledge sharing and growth.
Requirements
  • Hold a master's or bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, with a focus on firmware development or comparable studies.
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development in C, with experience in STM32 a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in analog electronic design.
  • Knowledge in motion control, particularly stepper motors.
  • Ideally, knowledge in thermal regulation and Peltier application.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills, with German a plus.
  • Strong independent work ethic, with a structured approach and self-initiative.
