System Engineer for Complex Diagnostics

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our Systems Engineering group at Roche. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the development success of our complex diagnostics systems, which comprise fluidics, software, instrument, biochemical sensors, and reagents.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for technical leadership in key systems engineering disciplines for system or complex system component development.
  • You will be accountable for systems engineering deliverables, such as risks, requirements, architecture, concept assessments, configuration management.
  • You will contribute to systems engineering in product development projects.
  • You will write and contribute to development documents, including product/technical requirements, traceability analysis (verification), product risk analysis, and configuration management.
  • You will drive alignment between component development and integration into one system via interface definitions and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and support test series to evaluate system reliability.
  • You will support system testing during design verification and validation activities.
  • You will collaborate with other functions inside and outside the project in cross-functional activities, such as with HW and SW Engineering, Operations, or Customer Support.

Requirements

  • You should hold a Bachelor/Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or equivalent.
  • You should have practical experience in system integration by applying technical (engineering) skills, acting as a systems thinker, and focusing on the 'big-picture'.
  • You should have fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering and model-based systems engineering.
  • You should have experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains, methods, etc.
  • You should have a background in development within a regulated environment, ideally in IVD(R) area.
  • INCOSE certification and/or model-based systems engineering is a plus.
  • Practical experience with SysML in general or Enterprise Architect in particular is a plus.
  • Experience in system integration of complex multidisciplinary systems is a plus.
  • You should have advanced English language skills, and German knowledge is a plus.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
