The Role

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Roche, where you will play a key role in the development of our complex diagnostics systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of fluidics, software, instrument, biochemical sensors, and reagents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership in key systems engineering disciplines for systems or complex system component development.
  • Technical accountability for systems engineering deliverables, such as risks, requirements, architecture, concept assessments, configuration management.
  • Contribution to systems engineering in product development projects.
  • Contribution and writing of development documents, such as product/technical requirements, traceability analysis (verification), product risk analysis, configuration management.
  • Drive alignment between components development and integration into one system via interface definitions and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support in execution of test series to evaluate system reliability.
  • Support system testing during design verification and validation activities.
  • Cooperation with other functions inside and outside the project in cross-functional activities, such as with HW and SW Engineering, Operations or Customer Support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master (BSc/MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in system integration by applying technical (engineering) skills, acting as a systems thinker, and focusing on the "big-picture".
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering and model-based systems engineering.
  • Experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains, methods, etc.
  • Background in development within a regulated environment, ideally in IVD(R) area.
  • INCOSE certification and/or model-based systems engineering is a plus.
  • Practical experience with SysML in general or Enterprise Architect in particular a plus.
  • Experience in system integration of complex multidisciplinary systems a plus.
  • Advanced English language skills, German knowledge is a plus.
