Research Scientist: Self-Emerging Architectured Materials

Job Description
The Institute for Building Materials seeks a highly skilled researcher to develop numerical and theoretical models for the self-assembly process and the emergence of microstructure in architected materials. The successful candidate will evaluate the mechanical properties of the resulting microstructure using in-house codes and high-performance computing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop numerical and theoretical models for self-assembly and microstructure emergence
- Evaluate mechanical properties of resulting microstructure using numerical simulations
- Analyze data to determine factors leading to desired material properties
- Establish knowledge for synthesis of self-emerging architected materials
Requirements
- MSc degree in mechanics, physics, engineering, material science, or related discipline
- Background in solid mechanics, applied physics, mathematics, computational sciences, or related field
- Prior programming experience and fluency in English
- Enthusiasm for original research in an interdisciplinary team
