Viking, a world-renowned cruise line, is seeking an experienced Guest Lecturer – Art to join our team of enrichment specialists on board our award-winning Ocean ships.

About the Role

This is a non-paid public enrichment position that involves delivering engaging presentations and lectures to our guests. You will be responsible for providing context and insights about the destinations we visit, addressing topics such as art history, architecture, music, sculpture, theatre, poetry, literature, and dance.

You will work closely with our Cruise Director and other team members to create an enriching experience for our guests.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver destination-based lectures and presentations on board our ships.
  • Conduct Q&A sessions following your lectures.
  • Provide scenic commentary where relevant.
  • Host tables for guests at dinner, as needed.
  • Accompany guests on shore excursions and escort them through various ports.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A degree or relevant personal experience in the field of expertise.
  • Lecturing experience within a college/university/cruise ship setting.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and ability to engage audiences.
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Dedicated, flexible, and approachable personality.
  • Professional appearance and well-groomed demeanor.
  • Proactive in upholding Viking standards of excellence.
  • Available to answer guest questions, provide feedback, and handle general inquiries.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken; foreign language proficiency is a plus.
Benefits and Perks

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as:

  • A double cabin with a large picture window, meals, drinks with meals, and unlimited Wi-Fi.
  • The opportunity to travel to/from the ship provided by Viking for you and your travel companion, if you join us for over 18 nights.
  • Full guest privileges, allowing you to enjoy all the amenities and activities on board.
