Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Global Logistics Procurement Team in Zurich. As a Transportation Procurement Strategist, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end categories, delivering On's transportation cost and quality goals through the procurement of freight services.

  • Create and drive new procurement initiatives to enhance transportation global strategy (cost, risks, compliance, etc)
  • Lead sourcing activities related to all modes of transportation for international and domestic freight spend (prepare, negotiate, analyze, award)
  • Collaborate strongly with Global Inbound Transportation Team to drive procurement improvements on global inbound transportation flows (ocean, air, road, FCL, LTL, etc)
  • Work closely with Global Warehouse and Distribution Team as well as various Regional Teams on delivering new procurement standards for outbound flows (last mile delivery, parcels, returns, LTL, B2C, B2B, etc.)
  • Interact with many internal stakeholders to support procurement transformation (legal, finance, controlling, customs, R&D, supply chain, etc)
  • Prepare, manage, analyze and award RFPs/bids for contract renewals and new business
  • Support developing new procurement requirements and standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation market intelligence, supplier research and financial analysis required to evaluate procurement business cases.
  • Support continuous improvement, corrective action, and escalation initiatives with transport providers
  • Responsible for monitoring freight costs and advising where negotiation, corrective actions and/or freight tenders are required
