Financial Risks Underwriting Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Risks Underwriter to join our team in Zurich. As a Junior Financial Risks Underwriter, you will play a key role in supporting our senior professionals in analyzing and managing financial risks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare meetings and business trips, ensuring all necessary materials are collected and organized.
  • Assist Underwriters in collecting information, processing data, and analyzing risk factors.
  • Provide high-quality data entry and work closely with Underwriting Assistants to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Undergo continuous training to develop skills and knowledge required for the role and future growth opportunities.
  • Support Underwriters in analyzing, reviewing, and monitoring accounts, as well as pricing Credit/Surety/Political Risks programs in accordance with Everest Re guidelines.
  • Participate in industry events and market visits with Senior Underwriters to develop relationships with cedents and brokers.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Pricing Actuaries to ensure accurate and informed decision-making.
  • Review and process claims with Underwriters and the Claims Department in accordance with Everest Re guidelines.
  • Analyze and monitor the book of business using dashboards and other tools.
  • Ensure effective communication with the accounting team to facilitate exchanges and resolve any issues.
  • Support the exposure control process to minimize risks and ensure compliance with company guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate in a relevant subject or holding a comparable recognized insurance qualification.
  • A few years of prior experience in Financial Risks or another line of business would be advantageous.
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive to progress to a senior role, while retaining some of the above responsibilities.
  • Enthusiastic and forward-looking mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Technical, analytical, and result-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS-Office products, especially Excel.
  • Very good command of English is a prerequisite; additional language skills are an advantage.
