Position Overview

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a GIS Cartographer Intern to support the development of information products that enhance the humanitarian community's decision-making capacity for emergency, reconstruction, and development contexts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting geospatial analysis and mapping to support research products for the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled GIS professional to join our team and contribute to the development of critical geospatial solutions that support humanitarian decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and development of satellite-based modelling techniques to highlight hazards and risks for the country.
  • Conduct spatial analysis on collected data as per ToRs and ensure the quality and accuracy of technical information provided.
  • Ensure accurate linkages between spatial databases and assessment data and draft timely and accurate GIS products.
Requirements
  • Academic: Excellent academic qualifications, preferably including a master's degree in GIS.
  • Research skills: Demonstrable experience with geo-spatial information management and analysis.
  • Software skills: Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
