Global Process Leader, Valuation Optimization

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Process Leader to join our team at Barry Callebaut. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the optimization of the fair valuation process globally, ensuring standardization and alignment with organizational goals. You will work closely with the Group Accounting function to develop and maintain a comprehensive framework for fair valuation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in commodity management, commodity-related products, and risk management will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives and providing actionable insights to stakeholders.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a global standardized valuation model amongst the organization and supporting various stakeholders/user groups
  • Acting as the accountable overseeing the fair valuation process, ensuring that mark-to-market (MtM) valuation and embedded margin are accurately maintained
  • Developing and enhancing standard templates enabling systematic reviews and analyses for different user groups
  • Conducting periodic reviews and validations of fair valuation models and assumptions, ensuring consistency and appropriateness of inputs and methodologies
  • Participating in cross-functional projects and leading improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the fair valuation accounting process, methodology, and tools, leveraging technology and automation
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for fair valuation process matters, providing guidance and support to finance teams globally
  • Collaborating closely with various stakeholders, including finance, risk management, and audit teams, to ensure alignment of fair valuation practices with the global comprehensive framework

About You

  • Strong knowledge of fair valuation accounting principles (IFRS 9)
  • Project management and/or LEAN Six Sigma certification or similar would be an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • Fluent command of English, any other foreign languages would be an asset
