Group Resilience and Crisis Management Director

The Group Resilience, Crisis and Business Continuity Director plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's assets, reputation, and operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in crisis management, business continuity, security, risk management, and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Resilience Strategy: Define and reinforce the global resilience, crisis management, and business continuity strategy for the Group, including the implementation of a dedicated approach, methodology, framework, and principles.
- Manage Business Continuity Initiatives: Elaborate and maintain policies, frameworks, and guidelines in the fields of resilience, crisis, and business continuity management to ensure ongoing compliance and awareness within the Group.
- Lead the Resilience Team: Manage and lead the Group Resilience, Crisis & Business Continuity department, including people management, recruitment, development review, and budget.
- Oversee Crisis Preparedness: Oversee a portfolio of initiatives with Maisons, Regions, and Entities to build up or maintain their desired level of crisis preparedness and business resilience.
- Crisis Management and Coordination: Be an escalation instance for possible crises that can significantly impact the company's people, assets, reputation, and key operations. Assess the situation and inform relevant stakeholders to manage the situation accordingly.
- Crisis Team Support: Be an active member of the Group Crisis Management Team and act as a Crisis Coordinator: be the point of contact for all members, provide support to the crisis chairperson on driving an efficient crisis management team, have the overall overview of the situation, ensure anticipation, etc.
- Crisis Management Capabilities: Develop Crisis Management capabilities in each Maison, Region, and Entity to support faster recovery in case of critical disruption.
- Crisis Scenario Identification: Deploy a methodology and approach to identify, assess, and monitor major crisis scenarios that can impact the Group, and ensure regular communication with relevant stakeholders (Seniors Executives, Group Functions, Maisons, Regions, and Markets).
- Training and Awareness: Train and create awareness at senior executive level on major crisis scenarios and the required level of preparedness. Promote ongoing training and development in personal resilience for leaders to ensure sustained performance during crises or disruptions.
- Business Continuity Strategy: Create and own the Group Business Continuity Strategy, which includes identifying critical activities (manufacturing, distribution, retail, etc.), performing high-level Business Impact Analysis (BIA), formalizing a pragmatic and lean Business Continuity approach.
- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate strong collaboration with business partners at all levels of the organization (Maisons, Regions, Manufacturing, Group Functions) to support and ensure implementation of the Business Continuity Strategy.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Collaborate closely with Group Platforms teams to define, implement, test, and maintain the global Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) by supporting the global approach, roadmap, back-ups strategies, on the company's most critical systems/applications.
- Risk Management and Oversight: Create a global overview on risks and existing business continuity capabilities and propose improvement actions for all critical operations (manufacturing, logistics, distribution, IT systems, etc.) to reinforce their resilience.
- Continuous Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate weak signals and potential threats to proactively adjust business continuity strategies.
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment among business continuity initiatives across the Group and provide visibility to Senior Management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 15 years' experience in a multinational company/consultancy firm in the field of crisis management, business continuity, security, risk management, and disaster recovery.
- Proven experience in Business Continuity Planning (BCP, DRP, etc.) with a very good knowledge of IT systems and manufacturing processes.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Solution-oriented and hands-on with the ability to keep a helicopter view.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Result-oriented and able to handle critical situations.
- Experience in a similar role for manufacturing, supply chain, and retail would be a solid advantage.
