Product Engineer Couplers

About the Role

As a Product Engineer Couplers at Wabtec, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of our coupling products. Your expertise will help us create innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the selection of components for projects
  • Analyze, document, and develop product catalogs
  • Develop and implement product development goals for technical optimization
  • Develop and monitor a roadmap for cost reduction measures
  • Responsible for product selection and TMC of the standard product catalog
  • Optimize products in terms of cost, quality, and delivery time (QCD)
  • Establish component standards and standard components
  • Create, adjust, and check construction guidelines to ensure modularization and standardization
  • Coordinate and control the work of the construction department
  • Improve drawing and document quality
  • Market and competition analysis
  • Document work results in the form of reports and presentations, create and maintain technical descriptions, reference lists, and customer presentations
  • Recalculate product costs (TMC) in close coordination with procurement
  • Interface with other engineering departments (especially project and product engineering, numerical calculations, R&D) and corresponding departments from sister companies
  • Central point of contact for all product-related questions regarding design, production, procurement, manufacturing, marketing, and sales
  • Support procurement across various locations as a Technical Leader

About You

We are looking for a skilled Product Engineer Couplers with a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in system engineering/product engineering in an international industrial company. You should have a high level of customer satisfaction through a service-oriented and flexible working style, be a team player with developed interpersonal skills for effective internal and external communication, and have a proactive and cooperative personality with a high level of engagement and communication skills. Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package and very good German and good English skills are required. Additional languages are an asset.
