The Environmental Chemistry Group at the University of Neuchâtel is offering 3 PhD positions to work on the SNSF Starting Grant, MiMOC: Mineral-Mediated Organic Carbon dynamics in soils and sediments. The project aims to investigate iron mineral transformations and their impact on carbon dynamics in redox-dynamic soil and sediment environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to understand the role of iron minerals in global element cycles
- Develop novel approaches for investigating iron mineral transformations and the coupled fate of mineral-associated organic carbon
- Collaborate with team members to publish research results in top-tier scientific journals
- Present research findings at national and international conferences
Requirements
- MSc degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, chemistry, or geology
