The Transformational Sustainability Science research group is looking for a research associate for an international, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary sustainability project within the framework of Eucor (European Campus) in cooperation with KIT.

Description

The project “Assessing the Potential for Offering a Solutions-oriented Sustainability Program in Eucor” aims to determine the feasibility of a solutions-oriented and competence-based degree program in Eucor. This includes research work, the development of the curriculum and the coordination of several workshops with the four partner universities.

Tasks:

  • Identification and analysis of sustainability study programs and courses in Eucor and at other universities in Germany, France and Switzerland
  • Identification of workforce needs in the field of sustainability in the Upper Rhine region
  • Identification and mapping of interested teaching staff at the four partner universities and their practice partners from business, administration and civil society
  • Identification and mapping of other interested practice partners from business, administration and civil society with regard to student projects
  • Identification of the unique selling points of the sustainability degree program and drafting of a marketing strategy
  • Identification of obstacles and opportunities for the implementation of the sustainability study program
  • Design the curriculum using competency-based, solution-oriented sustainability content and pedagogy
  • Fostering relationships between the four partner universities
  • Preparation, co-moderation and follow-up of several workshops with the four partner universities
  • Preparation of the final report

Your profile (required qualification):

  • Completed university degree (Master's) in sustainability science, educational science, environmental science or other relevant subject areas
  • Previous experience in sustainability and in the development of teaching programs
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English (knowledge of French is an advantage)
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with the preparation, implementation and follow-up of workshops
  • Independent, careful and structured way of working
  • High level of competence in teamwork (an advantage in international cooperation)
